To Stage, or Not to Stage?

To Stage or Not to Stage
[Article written by our stager and agent, Lindsey Blackburn]
This is a question I get from folks wondering if staging really helps. Well, I am here to tell you it truly does! Regardless of the age of the home, staging warms up the space and helps buyers have an emotional connection with the home.
Have you walked through an empty home and it just felt like…an empty home? Everything echoes, it feels cold and stagnant. I’m referring to both new construction and homes that have been around for a bit. When the home is empty, it's tough to envision living there.
From the National Association of Realtors Study: Home Staging Can Sway Budget-Conscious Buyers:
Staging isn’t just for the benefit of in-person visitors: Buyers who see photos of a staged property online are more willing to do a physical walkthrough, survey respondents say.
Of note:
-
81% of buyer’s agents say staging helps their clients visualize life in a home.
-
A third say staging boosts home value, particularly if the aesthetic fits the client’s tastes.
-
Nearly a quarter of survey respondents overall say staging may help buyers look past property faults.
When we meet with sellers, we discuss the benefits of freshening up the home with some paint or new carpet. Finishing up with a deep cleaning and staging, the home is ready for the market!
With real estate, it's all about first impressions, so make it a good one!
