Camano Island Neighborhoods - Onamac & Lost Lake
written by Lindsey Blackburn 6/20/2025
Camano Island has so much to offer in terms of what you’re looking for in property types. For example, if you’re interested in acreage with views, to a beach cabin right on the water or a sweet home nestled in the woods, Camano Island has options! There are also a few fun neighborhoods scattered around the island. If you’re interested in being amongst a neighborhood community, there are great options to choose from such as the Onamac and Lost Lake neighborhoods.
Lets first focus on the Onamac neighborhood.
Before I dig into what this neighborhood is all about, I have to mention the coolest fact of all!
Onamac is Camano spelled backwards! So fun, right!
My parents moved to this neighborhood in 2004 and still reside here! Some appealing highlights about the neighborhood include:
-
Private beach (key entry) with camping and a boat launch
-
Beach activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, crabbing, fishing, bonfires, camping, boating, birding, picnics and more!
-
The wildlife sightings are amazing, from whales swimming by, curious seals popping up to say hello, eagles soaring about and blue herons hanging out on the water's edge!
-
Supportive community, neighbors offering to help each other when they need it most. Including the helpful HOA board! They have the resources available to help clean up the beach after king tides move driftwood around, staying current with septic and well maintenance, routine neighborhood meetings, volunteer work to keep the neighborhood and common areas clean and pretty!
-
You won't notice any power lines or telephone poles in the way or blocking views! Of course, my dad mentioned that item ha!
-
Great walking and running neighborhood! You can choose to keep it flat or add some hills to your daily cardio. Lots of neighbors with dogs too!
With over 100 properties in the neighborhood, including view properties and houses set back from the water, there is a home for everyone in Onamac.
Now let's chat about the Lost Lake neighborhood.
Located closer to the middle of Camano Island, the popular Lost Lake neighborhood can be spotted off of Monticello Drive.
My fiance and I recently moved to this neighborhood! My sister, niece and nephew also live down the street. It's such a fun and welcoming neighborhood, full of families out and about! You’ll see kids playing outside, riding their bikes or playing on Lost Lake island! Speaking of the Lost Lake island, this is a popular spot to go fishing or launching your boat to ride around the lake.
There is also a clubhouse located here available to members or nonmembers of the Lost Lake Community. With large windows that showcase the beautiful lake, walking trail to the Island, and the lush green yard, to the stone fireplace, Lost Lake offers a serene atmosphere for any event. During the summer, there is plenty of natural light coming through.
With approximately 800 sq ft of space, there is space for 70 - 80 people.
